About Sweet Cream Dachshunds

We are a very small (only 1 or 2 litters per year) home-based breeder specializing in AKC long-haired Cream miniature dachshunds. Our home is a wonderful smoke-free environment for all of our dogs and puppies. We lived in Chandler, Arizona for 21 years, where we raised our 2 sons. We then moved to a house on 1 acre in Gilbert, Arizona so the dogs would have more room to run and play.  We currently have 11 dogs of our own. Our dogs are a huge part of our family;  they remain a part of our family after they are retired from breeding.  Our black and tans are 15 and 14 years old (mom, dad and daughter), the creams range from 2 years old to 10 years old, and Brandy, our red golden retriever, and Gin, our white (English cream) golden are both 5 years old. (Updated March 2026)

All 9 dachshunds and 2 goldens!  Waiting to be let out into the larger back yard.

Wanting to run out the front door!  (Before Chelina and 2 puppies)Inner yard

We built an inner fenced area to protect the dogs from hawks, coyotes and owls when we cannot go outside with them.  We take them outside this area to play and run at least twice a day.  I need updated photos, as we have 2 horses and horse stalls now as well.  The horses and dogs get along great.

In the evening they sit on the couch with us and at night the dachshunds sleep in our bed.  Our bed is a King to fit 9 dachshunds, but the goldens sleep at the foot of the bed in a 5 ft wide hand built kennel.

On the couch and chairs they don’t leave us much room!

We started with miniature short-haired black-and-tan dachshunds 15 years ago, but after adding a miniature long-haired English Cream dachshund to our home 10 years ago, we decided to focus on this sweet-tempered breed of dachshund. Chloe has been retired, but will stay in our family. Her grandson Remington was to be our sire (In the photo below), but we found out he is not be able to sire puppies.  Chloe’s great-grandson (Dad is Remington’s brother) will be our sire when he grows up.  Our puppies become part of our family as we socialize them to get ready to go to their new homes.   Follow our Facebook page or Instragram to get updates.

We only breed healthy dogs with good temperaments to make sure the future of this breed is enhanced.  Chloe is such a wonderful example of the breed, and our goal is to continue her line through a member of her family.  Our current sire is her great-grandson Maverick.

We are proud to be a member of the AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T program.
